Home Safety Project (老有家居好帮手长者生活家居改善计划)

The Institute of Active Ageing (IAA) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Squina "Loving Heart" Volunteer Team jointly conducted a "Home Safety Project" for five years (2010-2015) to improve the living standard of older persons. The project provided home environment assessments and improvements (e.g. small-scale home renovation works) for home-owners who are 60 years old or over, living in dilapidated homes with poor fittings. Two hundred such homes of older persons associated with the Po Leung Kuk Elderly Center are the target beneficiaries.

Warmth Delivery (送暖行動)

This project aims to improve the quality of life of elderly and chronic patients and to make them feel that they are cared for. Warm blankets, clothes, heater, hot pot, etc, will be delivered to the users' homes in winter. Users need to be referred by social workers or medical personnel. The service is free of charge.
