In Mongolia, older persons (60 year and over) who in 2010 comprised 7% of the country’s population will constitute 20% of the population by 2050

The proportion of older persons (aged 60 years and over) in total population is projected to progress rapidly in Mongolia during the next four decades. The proportion of older persons in Mongolia’s population, currently estimated at less than 7 percent (2010), will increase to nearly 20 per cent by 2050.
