The North Korea Elderly Care Fund is a non-profit organization established in 2011 by the government to  
- Build long-term care facilities, residential buildings, and other welfare facilities for older persons 
- Provide public health information
- Publish materials 
- Establish equipment for rehabilitation and health maintenance.
The funding sources include donations from international organizations, charity organizations, and compatriots living overseas. A national computer network will also be set up to monitor health and protection of older persons nationwide.
