Open-ended Working Group on Ageing at the United Nations

An Open-ended Working Group on Ageing was established by the UN General Assembly resolution 65/182 (paragraph 28). 

 

The purpose of the Open-ended Working Group is:

"strengthen the protection of the human rights of older persons by considering the existing international framework of the human rights of older persons and identifying possible gaps and how best to address them, including by considering, as appropriate, the feasibility of further instruments and measures" (paragraph 28 of the General Assembly resolution 65/182).

 

The Working Group met for its 6th meeting from 14 to 16 July 2015.
