UNIS manages a large selection of videos and casettes with TV and radio programmes produced the Department of Public Information, United Nations, New York. Among the titles are "UN in Action", a series of five-minute video spots on a variety of topics portraying how UN programmes assist people in different countries. Issues covered by UN TV and radio include: peace-keeping missions, human rights, women, environment, economic and social development among others.

UNIS in collaboration with the Social Development Division, has begun a joint project with Worldview International Foundation, a media NGO based in Colombo, Sri Lanka to produce a series of animation and television spots to build public awareness on the ‘Right to Development'. The one-year project, supported by the Government of Norway, was launched in March 1999.

Apart from traditional means of information dissemination through publications, workshops and seminars UNESCAP has also launched its own Web site on the Internet to make use of this rapidly growing medium of communication.The Web site contains news about the organization and information concerning events such as forthcoming regional conferences and seminars, as well as lists of documents, publications, press releases and special announcements. In addition, it contains basic background description of the work being carried out by various ESCAP divisions.
