Peace messages
With continuing conflicts around the world and the ever-increasing
risk to innocent civilians, peace is high on the minds of United
Nations staff. The recent attack on the UN offices in Iraq not
only marked a sad turning point for the world and its aspirations,
it effected many UN workers personally. We lost our family and
friends, and most importantly, irreplaceable champions of peace.
On the International Day of Peace for the year 2003, staff at
the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and
the Pacific (UNESCAP) and their families would like to share their
personal messages of peace.
