Productive Employment for Youth: Six Innovative Approaches Submitted for the 1995 ESCAP HRD Award, 1997, 61 pages
The case studies presented in this publication: The Barefoot College, India; Viet Nam Youth Federation; Underprivileged Children's Educational Programme, Bangladesh; Phra Payom Kalayano, Thailand; Human Resource Development Centre, Pakistan; and Youth Challenge, Singapore, cover the work of six outstanding individuals and organizations who are making significant contributions towards the promotion of productive employment for youth in the ESCAP region. In spite of a wide divergence of approach, all the programmes recognize the need to include youth as participants in the development process itself and to channel their energy and idealism into constructive economic and social development activities.
