Young Vietnamese Entrepreneurs to Benefit from Management Training Course
BANGKOK (United Nations Information Services) --- The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), Thailand's Mahidol University and Viet Nam's College of Business Administration for Managers (CBAM) are co-organizing a Management Training Course for Viet Nam, under the programme of the Greater Mekong Subregion Business Forum (GMS-BF), from 4 to 9 September 2001. The course will be held at the Hotel Equatorial in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam and is financed by the Government of Japan.
Around 100 managers from the private sector as well as government officials are expected to attend the course, which aims to increase their skills in learning to cope with changes brought about by globalization, including advances in information technology.
This training course is the third in a series of courses in the Greater Mekong Subregion, with previous courses being held in Myanmar and Lao People's Democratic Republic. Further training courses are planned for Yunnan, China and Cambodia.
The six-day course will include training modules on managing globalization, global business strategy and management, global trends and consumer behaviour, marketing, risk management and information technology. The training course will be conducted by lecturers from Mahidol University, in close cooperation with UN-ESCAP and CBAM.
“A main constraint to the development of the business sector in Viet Nam is the lack of availability of adequately trained human resources -- managers, financial experts, technical experts, marketing experts, etc. Through strengthening the human resource base, the Vietnamese business sector itself can play a more effective role both in expanding the Vietnamese economy and in positioning itself for the global marketplace in the 21st century,” said an ESCAP spokesman. This training course will allow young Vietnamese entrepreneurs to understand and cope with managing new developments in the global economy in a beneficial way through developing their skills in key issues such as marketing, e-commerce, information technology, risk management and global business strategies.
