United Nations to mark 62 years in Thailand with launch of Bangkok as UN regional hub
BANGKOK (UN ESCAP Strategic Communications and Advocacy Section) – United Nations agencies and entities based in Thailand will mark 62 years of the world body’s presence in the Thai capital on 24 October with the launch of Bangkok as the “UN Hub in Asia and the Pacific”.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Prime Minister H.E. Yingluck Shinawatra and Bangkok Governor H.E. M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra will join Dr. Noeleen Heyzer, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) for the annual observance of the United Nations birthday in Bangkok on 24 October. The official ceremony to include flag-raising, delivery of addresses and UN inter-agency exhibition and the Chinese/Thai art and calligraphy.
What: Observance of UN Day and launch of “Bangkok: UN Hub in Asia and the Pacific”
Who: Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, H.E. Ms Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand, H.E. M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Governor, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and Dr. Noeleen Heyzer, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of ESCAP.
When: Monday, 24 October 2011 from 08:30 to 10:30 hours.
Where: United Nations Conference Centre, Rajadamnern Nok Avenue, Bangkok.

Men: Suit with white shirt and black necktie
