Update on United Nations humanitarian assistance to Myanmar
1100 Friday, 16 May, FCCT, Bangkok
Bangkok (UN Information Services) -- The United Nations system in Bangkok will give a press briefing on the humanitarian assistance provided in response to Cyclone Nargis on Friday 16 May, 1100 - 1200, at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand (FCCT), Maneeya Center Building, 518/5 Ploenchit Road.
Speakers from UN agencies will provide an update on the situation on the ground and relief activities being undertaken.
Steve Marshall, liaison officer of ILO in Myanmar and one of the designated spokespeople on humanitarian response to Cyclone Nargis for the UN country team in Myanmar, will also speak.
Please pass on this advisory to fellow non-Bangkok based media colleagues who have come to cover the Cyclone response.
