United Nations media briefing on humanitarian assistance to Myanmar1530 TODAY, UNCC, Bangkok

Bangkok (UN Information Services) -- The United Nations system in Bangkok will give a media briefing on the humanitarian assistance provided in response to Cyclone Nargis today, Monday, 1530 - 1630, at the UN Conference Centre, Rajdamnern Nok Avenue.

Speakers from UN OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) and leading UN humanitarian agencies will provide an update on the situation on the ground and relief activities being undertaken.

The briefing will take place in Conference Room 4 where audio recording can be made from the built-in speakers on the desks. There is no multi-box for plugging in.

Journalists who do not have accreditation to the UN compound are advised to bring along their press cards and proceed to the registration desk at UNCC upon arrival.

Please pass on this advisory to fellow non-Bangkok based media colleagues who have come to cover the Cyclone response.
