INVITATION TO THE COMMEMORATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY, 8 MARCH 2006

BANGKOK (United Nations Information Services) --- In commemoration of the International’s Women Day, 8 March 2006, the United Nations Women’s Day Task Force on Gender will organize a special event on Wednesday, 8 March 2006 at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC). This year’s global theme is “Women in Decision-making”.

The special event will include a high-level panel presentation on “Women and Decision making: Challenges and Opportunities” with Dr. Saisuree Chutikul, former Minister to the Office of the Prime Minister and former Advisor to the Office of the Permanent Secretary and Dr. Orapin Sopchokchai, Public Sector Development Commissioner as guests speakers. There will be also a theatre performance by “B-Floor Theatre” on women’s issues: A Reflection on Women’s Lives directed by Ms. Sineenadh Keiprapai, and an exhibition.
