‘GETTING AROUND CITIES’ FOCUS OF UN MEETING
Sustainable transport, air quality and integration highlighted

Press conference scheduled for 25 October

BANGKOK (UN Information Services) – “Getting around cities - sustainable urban transport, air quality and integration” will be the focus of a two-day workshop to be held on 25-26 October at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok.

The key note speech will be delivered on 25 October by Dr. Samart Ratchapolasith, Deputy Governor of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Dr. Samart will discuss Bangkok’s progress towards sustainable transport and energy consumption and give an overview of recent and planned sustainable transport projects to improve Bangkokian’s quality of life.

Approximately 100 participants from 10 countries are expected to attend the two-day workshop. Participants will include mayors, government officials, academics, public transport operators, leading international experts in the field, and representatives of infrastructure development companies, international organizations, and development agencies.
