UNITED NATIONS TO CELEBRATE 58th ANNIVERSARY
AT THE UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE CENTRE ON FRIDAY, 24 OCTOBER
2003
Bangkok (UN Information Services) - The United
Nations in Bangkok will be celebrating United Nations Day on
Friday 24th October under the theme "Ray of Hope for the
Disadvantaged Persons".
The general public and media representatives who
are interested in issues surrounding disadvantaged persons are
most welcome to attend this event and to visit the joint United
Nations and NGOs' exhibition and fair to be held on Friday 24
October at the United Nations Conference Centre's Reception
Hall from 8.00 to 15.00. Handicrafts and various objects made
by disabled persons will be on sale.

- His Excellency, Mr. Korn Dabbaransi, Deputy Prime Minister
- Music by Chulalongkorn University Chorus, supported
by UNFPA
- Introduction to "Wan Kaew" (eye glasses) campaign
for the poor and disadvantaged groups by Dr. Kantima Kunjara,
UBC's Corporate Communications Director
- Youth Speak Out for Peace by Khun Dithaya Bunyarataphandu
- Closing song by Chulalongkorn University Chorus "Ray
of Hope for the Disadvantaged Persons" - joint UN
and NGOs' exhibition and fair at the UNCC's Reception

by UNICEF sing two songs at the opening of the exhibition
and fair.
Mr. Kim Hak-Su, Executive Secretary of UNESCAP, rings
the Peace Bell and cuts ribbon to open the exhibition
and visit the fair.
