Bangkok (United Nations Information Services) - The inaugural session of UNESCAP's Committee on Managing Globalization will meet from 19 to 21 November 2003 at the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok.

An estimated 140 participants from Ministries of Planning, Trade, Transport, Environment, and ICT in the region, as well as relevant organizations and agencies are expected to attend.

H.E. Dr. Sorajak Kasemsuvan, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Royal Thai Government, will inaugurate the session on Wednesday, 19 November 2003,at the United Nations Conference Centre at 9 a.m.

The Committee on Managing Globalization addresses globalization-related issues in the areas of trade and investment, transport and tourism, information, communication and space technology, and environment and sustainable development.
