The Library is a specialized collection for internal and external
users. Short period use by certain groups of public users
is permitted. Users include:

of UNESCAP and the United Nations specialized agencies
UNESCAP's Permanent Representatives and associates
Representatives to UN-sponsored meetings
Spouses/dependents of UN staff, with UN ID card
Those with UN accreditation such as NGOs and media representatives

and academics
Graduate students but not undergraduate and secondary school students
Thai government officers
Diplomatic representatives in Bangkok
Corporate and independent researchers

Permanent and fixed term staff members of a
one year contract may check out publications for 15 days with
renewal.
Short term contract staff members, consultants and interns
may borrow publications with permission of their supervisors.
Staff of specialized agencies and other international organizations
personnel may also check out publications for 15 days with
renewal.
External Users

To borrow publications, a duly prepared Inter-library loan
form signed by Librarian of the relevant Library is required.
The Library is open
to external users on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1100
to 1600. The Library is closed on the UNESCAP
Holidays.
External users may visit
the Library, as follows:
Users for the Day
Visitors who are guests of UN staff members
may use the Library provided advance notice is given to the
library staff.
If visitors have received consent from the Library, the
receptionist will confirm this consent from the library staff
before a normal Visitor card is issued.
Users Up to Three
Months
Visitors, who wish to
obtain a Library Pass valid for three monthsshould follow the
procedure below:
Prepare an
application form (pdf),
which is available from the
Library web site, or at the Reception. The form must be
endorsed by supervisor, professor, senior staff or librarian
of the applicant's institution.
Submit the form to the Library together with two passport-size
photographs.
The Library will process the form and will contact the applicant
when the Library card is ready for claiming.
The EBIS database and Internet-connected
computers are available to users for professional research.
Equipment and information resources, and the Internet, for non-authorized,
illegal and private purposes is strictly prohibited.
Users may not modify installation, perform unreasonable stock
information and change passwords, etc. Users are expected
to respect all copyright restrictions. Printing from Internet
files is not permitted.
