Country Reports and Presentations on Road Safety

In 2006 and 2007, a number of country reports on road safety were prepared by ESCAP member states and associate members and submitted to the Secretariat, in preparation for a number of ESCAP meetings:

• Expert Group Meeting on Improving Road Safety on the Asian Highway, Bangkok, 21-22 June 2007 (Report of the meeting, PDF). A CD with proceedings and related materials can be order from <escap-ttd "at"un.org>.
  
• Ministerial Conference on Transport, Busan, Nov. 2006, where the Ministerial Declaration on Improving Road Safety in Asia and the Pacific (PDF) was adopted.
  
• Expert Group Meeting on the Development of the Asian Highway Network: Regional Experiences and Lessons in Financing Highway Infrastructure and Improving Road Safety, Bangkok, 8-10 May 2006

Based on the countrt reports received, the ESCAP Secretariat prepared an Overview of road safety in Asia and the Pacific, in 2007, see document E/ESCAP/CMG(4/I)/7 (English, Chinese, French, Russian), as well as in 2006, see document E/ESCAP/MCT/SGO/9 (English, Chinese, French, Russian).
