Review of Developments in Transport in Asia and the Pacific, 2007 (update: 08/02/2008)
Background: The biennial publication Review of Developments in Asia and the Pacific provides a review of progress made in the transport sector in the ESCAP region. It reviews the significant developments in the roads, railways, shipping ports, inland waterways, multimodal transport and logistics, air transport and urban transport and analyzes their trends. The Review also examines a wide range of issues in the transport sector and initiatives that have been directed to facilitation of transport in the region, promotion of private sector participation, meeting the social and environmental needs and reform in the industry.
The 2007 edition of the Review has just been completed. It includes a Special Issue on the Busan Ministerial Conference on Transport. At the present the original English version (PDF, 2MB) and French translation (PDF, 2MB) are available. The Russian and Chinese versions will appear soon. Transport-related data (time series) that were also used for the preparation of the Reviews are from time to time consolidated into a Statistical Abstract of Transport in Asia and the Pacific, the latest 2007 edition of which is available here.

Country reports are available on infrastructure and public-private partnerships as well as on road safety.
Previous editions of the Review are available: 2005 | 2003 | 1996-2001 | 1995 | 1993. Earlier facts on transport trends in the region since 1947 were reported as part of the Transport and Communications Bulletin for Asia and the Pacifc.
