Expert Group Meeting on Sustainable Transport Development: The secretariat of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized an Expert Group Meeting on Sustainable Transport Development: Eco-efficiency in Freight Transportation and Logistics at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok on 29-30 March 2010. The meeting was organized as part of a joint project of ESCAP and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) entitled “Eco-efficient and Sustainable Urban Infrastructure in Asia and Latin America”. The project, financed from the United Nations Development Account, seeks to promote the application of eco-efficiency as a key criterion for sustainable infrastructure development and as a basis for expanding infrastructure financing opportunities.
