Operational structure of APETIT
 
 
The General Council and the Executive Committee of APETIT administer the network and the secretariat of UNESCAP acts as a regional coordinator.

APETIT General Council:

The General Council of APETIT, composed of all members of the network, meets at least once every two years at a place and date determined by the Executive Committee.

It establishes the policies of the network, reviews and evaluates its activities and approves its programmes of work. It also appoints the Executive Committee members.

Since its inception, APETIT had four meetings of its General Council.
1. Macao, China (1999)
2. Khajuraho, India (August 2001)
3. Colombo, Sri Lanka (December 2003)
4. Hanoi, Viet Nam (October 2005)

APETIT members had a number of informal consultations among themselves at these meetings and came up with several possible initiatives for cooperation.

APETIT Executive Committee:

The Executive Committee, composed of 14 members, meets at least once a year and reports to the General Council of APETIT. (Current members of the Executive Committee)

Acting in accordance with the decisions of the General Council, the Executive Committee prepares a two-year programme of work and mobilizes resources for the network, review the progress of activities undertaken within the network and consider applications for membership.

To date, the Executive Committee has held 10 meetings. The most recent meeting was held in Melbourne, Australia in February 2005. The 13th meeting of the Executive Committee is scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China on 24-25 May 2006.
