Expert Group Meeting to Develop Corridor Based Cooperative Arrangement for Operationalization of International Intermodal Transport Corridors in North-East and Central Asia

4-5 November 2009, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

 

As a follow-up to the Policy Level Expert Group Meeting held in Tashkent in March 2009 the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is organizing the Expert Group Meeting in Bishkek from 4 to 5 November 2009 with the objectives to:.

(i)
 discuss the findings of study of three priority intermodal corridors;
(ii) 
 discuss draft memorandum of understandings and terms of references of corridor based steering committees for development and operationalization of the priority corridors; and
(iii)
 discuss planning demonstration runs along the three priority corridors.

All ten member countries from Central Asia and North-East Asia and international organizations have been invited to participate in the meeting.

The EGM is hosted by the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Kyrgyzstan.
