To engage the Maritime Industry in HIV prevention, and consistent with the Declaration of commitment on HIV/AIDS adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in June 2001, and consistent with Millenium Declaration (Goal 6), the Transport and Tourism Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission, (UNESCAP), the UNDP South East Asia HIV and Development Programme (UNDP SEAHIV) and the UNAIDS Sout East Asia and Pacific Intercountry Team partnered with the Singapore Maritime Academy to develop the Computer Based Training Programme "Be Safe Not Sorry".

The Project was undertaken with funding from UNDP, UNAIDS and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
