Subregional Meeting on the Development of Intergovernmental Agreement
on Dry Ports for South and South-West Asia

The Commission in its resolution 66/4 of 19 May 2010, the second session of the Committee on Transport, held in Bangkok during 1-3 November 2010 requested the secretariat to work on an intergovernmental agreement on dry ports.

In this regard, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized a "Subregional Meeting on the Development of Intergovernmental Agreement on Dry Ports" for South and South-West Asia in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 13 and 14 September 2011. The Meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Communication of Bangladesh.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss a working draft of the agreement.

The working draft of the Agreement was further negotiated and considered by regional meetings in 2012.
