In order to promote cooperation among member countries and international organizations in the field of road transport facilitation, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), with the financial support from the Government of China, was organized a regional meeting on cooperation for facilitation of international road transport at Beijing, China from 30 May to 1 June 2011.
The objectives of the meeting are to:
1. Share regional experience and good practices in the facilitation of international road transport;
2. Review and update the participants on the latest developments in facilitation of international road transport; and
3. Discuss and adopt a regional strategy and framework for facilitation of international road transport.
The participants will include the Asian Highway member countries, representatives from international and subregional organizations, international and regional financial institutions, and also representatives from national and international road associations.
