                                    Objective of the Session: What are the gaps and future requirements of individual countries for the trade data harmonization and the implementation of single window? How UNESCAP and UNECE could assists to address the individual country needs? UNESCAP will introduce a Single Window Readiness Questionnaire to collect a country-based data for a baseline study.

 

 

 

                

DAY THREE: WEDNESDAY, 7 MAY 2008

 

ROUND TABLE:            ESTABLISHING THE EAST AND CENTRAL ASIAN FORUM FOR                 EFFICIENT TRADE

 

The Round Table will introduce the concept of the Asia-Pacific Forum for Efficient Trade (AFET), established under the auspices of UNESCAP with the aim to provide a forum for experts from public and private sector to exchange experiences, best practices and lessons learnt from the implementation of trade facilitation. The East and Central Asian Forum for Efficient Trade (ECAFET) could serve as a subregional platform based on public-private partnership to champion subregional trade facilitation initiatives that would lead in transforming landlocked countries into “landlinked”.
