Fourth round of negotiations ended June 2009.Following a decision by the Supreme Council of the GCC, (see http://www.dfat.gov.au/trade/fta/gcc/agcc-fta-study.html) bilateral negotiations between Australia and UAE were discontinued in favor of negotiations between Australia and the whole GCC.
