The main objective of the First working meeting of the TAG on Population and Social Statistics was to produce a work plan for the first year of the TAG, as specified in the initial Terms of Reference of the TAG-PSS. The meeting expected to produce:
Basic elements of a programme on improving social statistics in Asia and the Pacific till 2020 and major milestones;
The work plan of the TAG-PSS for 2011-12, including specific goals, outputs, activities, schedule and resource requirements.
