As a follow-up to the second
workshop (Bangkok, 27-29 September 2004) , the
United Nations Economic and Social Commission
for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the World
Health Organization (WHO) are organizing field
tests of disability question sets in some countries
of the region. This workshop specifically focused
on these pilot countries.
The main objective of the workshop was to discuss
the testing protocols and instruments along
with the implementation strategies and country-level
work plans. During the workshop, the participants
reviewed the study protocols and disability
question sets as well as other operational guidelines
such as ‘Interviewer Guide’ and
‘Translation Guideline’. Other important
issues discussed covered sampling, quality control,
data entry etc. In addition, each country team
developed a national action plan to implement
the pre-testing activities.
