The third meeting of ASEAN Task Force on Harmonization of Statistical Classification
Bangkok, 20-22 March 2006
Last update: 23 March 2006

The ASEAN Secretariat has embarked on the implementation of the project, Development of the ASEAN Industrial Classifications Guide-Phase 1, under the ASEAN-EU Programme for Regional Integration Support (APRIS).

The project aims to implement the work program initially formulated in the 2nd Meeting of the ASEAN Task Force on the Harmonization of Statistical Classifications (TFSC) held on 4-6 October 2004 in Manila. The project will continue ASEAN technical cooperation with the UN Statistics Division and ESCAP to ensure that the activities and outputs are consistent with the bigger ASPAC regional and global directions in the revision of the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC).

The third meeting of ASEAN Task Force on Harmonization of Statistical Classification held on 20-22 March 2006 in Bangkok, incollaboration with the UNESCAP. The meeting discussed, among others, the (1) draft common structure; (2) draft guidelines for revision; and (3) areas and plans for relevant national studies, that were expected to help rationalize and facilitate the revision of national statistical industrial classifications within the context of the ISIC Rev 4.0.
