The Expert Group Meeting on Effective Use of IT in Population Censuses was held in Bangkok from 10 to 12 December 2007, just before the fourth session of the Committee on Poverty Reduction.
The purpose of the Meeting was to prepare recommendations that would
Provide guidance to national statistical offices and census offices on how to make better use of IT in collecting, editing, storing, analysing and disseminating population census data
Identify specific areas where the ESCAP secretariat, and other international development partners, could facilitate the exchange of related knowledge, expertise, and good practices
