| 1. Human resources and training for national statistical offices |
The objective of this session was to discuss how the development of human resources in national statistical offices can improve using, in particular, the training facilities provided by international and national statistical agencies. It was built on a seminar on a similar topic at the June 2006 Conference of European Statisticians. |

The objective of this session was to explore how administrative data can be used to support establishment collections. Possibilities discussed:
- a data source for the business register;
- a data source that could be used to produce new statistics;
- a data source that can be used instead of collecting data from businesses;
- a data source that could be used as a benchmark to improve the efficiency of survey design and estimates.
