The second meeting of the Steering Group for Agricultural Statistics (SGAS) was held during 18-20 July 2012, in UNCC, Bangkok. The meeting was chaired by Mr Romeo Recide (the Philippines) and Mr Karpo Dukpa (Bhutan) in their capacities as the Chair and Vice-chair, respectively, of the SGAS.
The objective of the meeting was to review a plan for implementing the Global Strategy to Improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics in Asia-Pacific (referred to as “the RAP” hereafter), and provide concrete recommendations for its finalization for consideration by the Asia-Pacific Commission on Agricultural Statistics (APCAS, October 2012) and the ESCAP Committee on Statistics (CST, December 2012).
