Launch of the World's Women 2010 to commemorate World Statistics Day
20 October 2010 marked the first celebration of World Statistics Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness and honoring the many achievements of official statistics premised on the core values of service, professionalism and integrity. A UN World Statistics Day Event was planned in Bangkok on Wednesday, 20 October 2010 from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. which was highlighted by a commemorative launch ceremony of the World’s Women Report and an exhibition highlighting the region’s national statistical offices. The event was co-organized by the Social Development Division and the Statistics Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific which took place during the Committee on Social Development in the United Nations Conference Centre.
