The Inaugural Meeting of Asia-Pacific Regional Advisory Group on Women, Peace and Security

The inaugural meeting of Asia-Pacific Regional Advisory Group is scheduled from 13 to 14 September 2011 in Bangkok . The purpose of this meeting is for this group of eminent figures in the field of Women, Peace and Security to review relevant issues and priorities in the region as well as to consider and adopt the workplan of the Regional Advisory Group for the period 2011-2012. The Regional Advisory Group on Women, Peace
and Security was established and launched last October. The group will provide high-level technical advice and support to Governments, civil society and other relevant players in the Asian and Pacific region on the effective implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.
