The Social Development Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized a Workshop-cum-Expert Group Meeting on the Institutional Strengthening of National Women's Machineries in South and South-West Asia.

Key objectives of the Meeting include:
- To enhance the institutional capacity of national women's machineries to strengthen their strategic posisioning and ability to effectively advocate and negotiate gender mainstreaming across all areas of national policy, budget and programmes.
- To provide the opportunity to identify common priorities and strategies on ways forward at the sub-regional level for the institutional strengthening of the national women's machineris.

The meeting took place at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok
