The "Poverty Alleviation Initiatives" is published quarterly as an interagency endeavour to provide updates on United Nations initiatives on poverty alleviation in Asia and the Pacific region. The inputs are provided by the members of the Thematic Working Group on Poverty Alleviation, Rural Development and Food Security. Present memberships include ESCAP, UNICEF, UNEP, UNFPA, UNDP and FAO, ILO, UNESCO, UNIDO, UNIFEM and WHO. It is published in print and electronic format by the Rural Development Section of the Population and Rural and Urban Development Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
