Abstract

This issue focuses on institutional development for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) promotion in the region. It provides an overview of Private Sector Participation (PSP)/PPP units and special legal instruments in the region. It contains an overview of private sector participation in the transport sector and compares regional and global trends and issues. It examines structural and functional aspects of special PSP/PPP units in Bangladesh, the Philippines and the Republic of Korea and provides details of PPP project implementation processes and accomplishments of special PPP units in these countries. Important PSP/PPP development policy issues are discussed.
