The Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting on the Implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action to be held at the Empress Angkor Hotel, Siem Reap, Cambodia from 4 to 6 March 2015. The Meeting will be inaugurated at 09:00 hours on 4 March 2015 at the Royal Conference Hall, 4th Floor of Empress Angkor Hotel and all subsequent sessions will also be held at Royal Conference Hall from 09:00 hours to 17:00 hours including lunch and coffee breaks.
The IPoA invited the United Nations General Assembly to consider conducting a comprehensive high-level midterm review of the progress made by the LDCs in implementing the Istanbul Programme of Action (para. 157). ESCAP resolution 70/3 requested the Executive Secretary, inter alia, to organize the Asia-Pacific regional high-level policy dialogue on the IPoA in early 2015 and to submit to the Commission at its seventy-first session a report on the progress achieved in implementing the said resolution.
The Introductory session will include the technical presentation on "Features and Benefits of Innovative Wastewater and Solid Waste Solutions". Following this presentation, partner cities will present concrete challenges, issues and opportunities identified, where the provincial and/or the national government plays a critical role.
