The SSWA SDGs Update is a bimonthly electronic newsletter, which summarizes recent news about South and South-West Asia, with a particular focus on regional cooperation and national developments related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The newsletter typically features a timely and relevant key event as a lead story and provides a news digest, which is a compilation of news on topics such as SDG priorities and challenges, gender equality and empowerment of women, regional connectivity: trade, transport and energy, and means of Implementation of the SDGs.

Designing financial inclusion strategies is a significant tool for ending poverty. It not only provides access to financial services and enhances the financial literacy of the poor, but it also allows micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), startups and young firms, and innovative projects greater access to finance. However, the level of financial inclusion and its impact on poverty, employment and narrowing the gender gap varies widely across countries.
This tentative programme relates to the Expert Group Meeting on Enhancing Economic and Social Benefits of International Migration in North and Central Asia, which will be organized from 19 to 20 April 2017 in Moscow, Russian Federation.
