| This publication looks at trade and investment policies that help bridge the digital divide and facilitate integration into the global economy in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries. It offers both a regional and national perspective on current trade and investment in information and communication technology (ICT) goods and services in these countries. The research shows that only Thailand and Viet Nam have recognized the role of trade and investment policies in promoting ICT production and trade. Concrete measures to develop a more competitive telecommunication sector in the region, and to further reform investment and trade policies are recommended. |
