| The publication addresses core issues facing the ESCAP region as the Doha-mandated World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiations progress. It analyzes agricultural reform proposals and discusses service sector negotiations and market access for industrial products. It looks at investment, competition policy and government procurement issues under the Doha Development Agenda and discusses their development aspects. The implications of trade facilitation for developing countries is also discussed. Finally, it concludes with a review of experiences on accession to WTO emerging from the ESCAP region.
