This report is a compilation of pilot study reports from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand. Applications of: color and color infrared aerial phography data for ecological and land use studies; use of Landsat MSS data for forest classification; multi-level remote sensing for forest area land-use classification and forest resources mapping ar discussed.




Under the UNDP/ESCAP Regional Remote Sensing Programme a number of sub-regional pilot projects were identified and initiated. One such project was the joint pilot project on forestry in which Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand participated. This report is a compilation of pilot study reports. It also includes pre-pilot study report which was carried-out in Thailand as a precursor of the pilot project.
