Recent times have witnessed a major breakthrough in the field of satellite technology, miniaturization, through the use of high-technology mechanisms which has increased the potential to build operational small satellite systems. This report examines whether small and comparatively inexpensive satellites have a role in the sustainable development of Asia and the Pacific.
