This report presents the findings of the study which aims to analyse empirically the expenditure pattern and behaviour of domestic and foreign tourists in Malaysia, and from this to measure the sectoral and economic effects of tourism. Among other things, it evaluates the impact of tourist expenditure on gross domestic product (GDP), government revenue, net foreign exchange earnings, employment and technological linkages.
