Transitional economies especially the Central Asian countries have embarked on a number of aggressive programmes to develop vibrant market economies. Owing in part to the challenges faced by international investors and entrepreneurs to source current and comprehensive information on business environments and opportunities in Central Asian countries, ESCAP has prepared comprehensive guides to doing business in Kazakhstan, Kygyzstan and Uzbekistan. These guides are intended to provide potential trade and investment partners with a profile on the economies that hitherto have not been fully linked with the business sector of Asia and the Pacific. Each guide provides comprehensive information on the country in general, recent economic performance, trading framework and activities, business practices, investment opportunities, transport and communication network.
