This publication presents a compilation of international and regional mandates adopted by governments concerning ageing-related issues, including those adopted at regional meetings in Asia and the Pacific, for action to be undertaken to improve the quality of life of older persons, in the course of the past 15 years. It consists of three parts: (1) international mandates adopted at major world conferences, (2) international mandates adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, and (3) mandates adopted at inter-governmental meetings in Asia and the Pacific.
