It reflects activities undertaken at national, subregional and regional levels in the development of self-help organizations. Together with an earlier publication entitled Pathfinders: Towards Full Participation and Equality of Persons with Disabilities in the ESCAP Region, this publication forms a valuable record of some of the very successful initiatives that have taken place in countries and areas of the ESCAP region, as regard the improvement of the lives of persons with disabilities.
