| Information and communications technology (ICT) as collaborative tools holds great potential for development and how best to use this technology is a question that has to be guided by the experience of users. This report provides a summary of selected presentations and discussions from the Regional Workshop on Increasing Stakeholder Participation Using ICT. This Workshop provided the participants to share their experience and learn how to apply these tools to enhance stakeholder participation. The participants reviewed key concepts, approaches, and methods related to participatory project design, communications and evaluation; compare cases of project development and implementation with and without participatory approaches; and provided possible solutions for project design based on the principles of participatory development. The workshop was organized by the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). |
