| One of the most recent and difficult challenges for Asian countries relates to how Asian people's cultural and religions heritage could be linked to tourism development. In this context, an ESCAP Seminar on the Promotion of Buddhist Tourism Circuits was held in November 2001, where participants were given the opportunity to share experiences and report on good practices to development, management and promotion of Buddhist tourism, a part of cultural and heritage tourism. Participant papers are presented in this review. They provide an insight into the approaches, policies and practices to create regional and sub regional Buddhist tourism circuits. |
