The purpose of the document is to (a) provide an overview of the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system of ESCAP, including policies and guidelines, as well as fact sheets and tools; and (b) promote harmonization of approaches, particularly among the regional commissions, in monitoring and evaluation practices.

This section provides an overview of ESCAP's technical cooperation activities in 2009, including the trends in technical cooperation to address the economic and social challenges confronting the member States in the Asia-Pacific region.
